Our Impact

In the fall of 2016, the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying partnered with Stony Brook University’s Business Honors students to build off of previous work together to quantify bullying on Long Island.

In order to measure the effectiveness of existing programs and outreach opportunities and to develop new ones, LICAB sought to first measure just how big the bullying problem is within local Long Island communities.  Further, understanding that those experiencing bullying can be targeted for a host of reasons, we sought to dive deeper into trends amongst different genders, religions and sexual orientations.

While the results were of a non-scientific nature, they did align closely with national trends related to bullying.
